One of the coolest things that I have done during my time at CAPS was this Wednesday. I had the opportunity to shadow Dan Gurley, a surgical optometrist. It was a very interesting process seeing what it's like doing the physical surgeries. And the craziest thing about them is how fast they are. When he fixed a damaged MCL it took maybe 15 minutes and that blew me away. In shows and movies, physical surgeries take a lot longer than they probably should. Dr. Gurley was super nice and personable, once we got introduced to him and started talking it was very easy to ask questions. I had a great time and would love to do it again!
